Program — Moondance Festival 2023

Ben Sims – one of the best techno DJs in the world, will lead the opening of the 10th anniversary of the Moondance Festival on Thursday, July 27th, 2023.

For its 10th edition, Moondance Festival, from Thursday, July 27th to Sunday, July 30th, is preparing a real treat for all techno enthusiasts, and those who are about to become one. The biggest Moondance festival yet, in addition to three main nights at the Kamerlengo Fortress, will feature Pirate Boat and Electric Boat party boats, The Art of DJing and Production Methods workshops with Algoraving with Mercury, and the traditional After party to end the festival. A total of 8 events at 4 locations with over 30 foreign, regional, and local performers.

The first night is reserved for a three-hour set by one of the world’s best techno DJs – Ben Sims from London, who was awarded the title of The Best Of British – Underground Hero in 2021. Skeptik in a b2b set with Jan Kinčl, DJ Jock from Split, Vakat from Podgorica, Mozer from Zagreb, Beko from Metković, and Vazdaisti from Vitez will support Ben on the opening night.

The second night at the Kamerlengo Tower is dedicated to women in techno. In collaboration with the HUSH! project, our celebrated DJ Insolate, for the first time at Moondance, will perform with Adriana Lopez, a Colombian magician whom London’s Fabric declared one of the most influential figures in techno whose contribution in a 20-year career is immeasurable. Madalba from Berlin is the third headliner of the second night, a Tresor resident, and one of the favorite figures of Berlin’s nightlife. They will be prepared by young talents whose time is coming, premiering at Moondance, Ana RS from Montenegro, DJ April from Banja Luka, and Mokosh from Split.

The third and final night is reserved for Tresor from Berlin. The collaboration between the best techno club in history and the Moondance festival is entering its 5th year, bringing us the best of the resident performers of the incomparable techno institution. The guest of the night is the icon of the Berlin techno scene, Bloody Mary, who needs no introduction. The night will be complemented by the favorites of the domestic audience, Tresor and Moondance residents The Analogue Cops – live and Handmade. The night will be opened by local, Trogir talent Marko Vuletić, who will perform live for the first time. The TAMAN crew from Split will continue to warm up the audience, this time in a two-member lineup, El Commando and Kommoda. The night will be closed by Pero FullHouse with a celebratory set for his 30-year DJ career.

Pirate Boat and Electric Boat parties with cruises around the Trogir archipelago are reserved for Friday, July 28th, and Saturday, July 29th, from 5-9 pm. Mladen Tomić from Banja Luka with his premiere performance at Moondance, Forest People from Prnjavor, Zagreb maestro Jan Kinčl, Split talents DJ Jock, Feta, and Marul, Šibenik’s Edy C, and Trogir host Tome R will take turns at the DJ helm.

Moondance workshops will be held at the Town Hall on Friday, July 28th, and Saturday, July 29th, from 6 pm to 8 pm. On Friday, the workshop The Art of DJ-ing will be led by Jan Kinčl and Pero FulHouse, while on Saturday, Lucretio from The Analogue Cops will present Algoraving with Mercury at the Production Workshop.

Moondance weekends traditionally end with legendary after-parties, and this year will be no exception as Beko (Road project) from Metković, Solin’s Coyya (Los Barbaros), Ivan Simonek from Križevci behind the Reset project, young Split DJ AS, Mostar’s Studa and local Marko Vuletić will take care of a worthy ending.
